New online learning resource available now

Lynda.com, an exciting new video online learning resource, is now available to all Queenslanders from library computers or their own desktop, mobile or tablet devices.

Lynda.com provides free access to more than 3,000 courses and 136,000 video tutorials for learning the latest commercial software, creative and business skills. Courses cover hundreds of topics including technology, business management, leadership, marketing, multimedia, design and web development.

To join, use your public library or SLQ membership number to login to the lynda.com portal and create a profile. Training is provided by expert professionals and is suitable for advanced and beginner learners. Work in small chunks or watch an entire course.

Training can be viewed on almost any browser-equipped device including desktops, laptops, smart phones and tablets. Read the information on system requirements and download the app to use from your preferred device. Latest courses include the entire Adobe creative suite, Microsoft Windows 8, Office 2013, Apple’s Mountain Lion, how to create mobile applications with iOS and Android, as well as courses on cloud-based services from Google and Microsoft.
